NEW POSSIBILITIES FOR THE OIL-AND-GAS PROSPECTS OPERATIVE ESTIMATION OF EXPLORATORY AREAS, DIFFICULT OF ACCESS AND REMOTE TERRITORIES, LICENSE BLOCKS

Levashov S.P., Yakymchuk N.A., Korchagin I.N.

Given in the paper are practical results of the experimental approbation in 2009–2010 of original technology of the satellite data processing and interpretation for the “direct” prospecting and exploration of hydrocarbon (HC) deposits, ore minerals and water-bearing reservoirs. They witness that technology allows to find and map operatively the anomalous zones of “oil deposit” and (or) “gas deposit” type, which are conditioned by large-scale and medium size HC deposits. The satellite data processing results are analyzed in the region of HC deposits location in different oil-and-gas bearing basins: Shebelinskoe, Kobzevskoe and Subbotinskoe (Ukraine), Tengiz, Teren-Uzyuk, Koshkimbet, Karaton (the Republic of Kazakhstan), Romashkinskoe and Vankorskoe (Russia), Dovletabad-Donmez and Southern Iolotan (Turkmenistan) etc. It is shown that the anomalous objects of small sizes (100–300 m) can be discovered and mapped during the processing and interpreting of the vast scale (1 : 10 000 and more large) and resolution satellite data. The satellite data processing technology integration with the ground-based methods of forming a short-pulsed electromagnetic field (FSPEF) and vertical electric-resonance sounding (VERS) (FSPEF–VERS express-technology) makes it possible to increase essentially the efficiency of theses methods. Operative “satellite” technology of the oil-and-gas prospects estimation can be used during reconnaissance examination of difficult of access and remote regions, including Arctic and Antarctic offshore. Application of this technology together with the traditional geophysical methods in the oil-and-gas-prospecting works greatly can increase the efficiency of the geological prospecting stage of the work – reduce the economic and temporal expenses, as well as financial risks on their realization.
