ELECTROMAGNETIC LITHOSPHERE EMISSION: NEW EXPERIMENTAL DATA AND ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM

Discussed in the paper is the problem of generation and propagation of electromagnetic signals that have a lithospheric origin. Attention is concentrated on electrodynamics of geological medium – open dissipative seismic-electromagnetic generating system – and in particular on the methods of its description, on interaction between radiation and substance. Some mathematical aspects of generation of electromagnetic disturbances in radio-wave range are being analyzed. The article shows possible ways of application of electromagnetic component of lithosphere emission for the diagnostics of its structure and geodynamic processes in it. Some experimental results on registration of spontaneous electromagnetic emission of lithosphere are given.
