Purpose. The results of testing mobile direct-prospecting technology for frequency resonance processing of satellite images and photoimages at various types of geological objects in the region of Australia and New Zealand are presented. Investigations of a reconnaissance nature were carried out in the areas of the ring structures (craters) Gosses Bluff, Wolfe Creek, Ilkurlka an Yarrabubba, in the local areas of drilling two exploratory wells for hydrocarbons within offshore, in the area of the active volcano and several lakes.

Design/methodology/approach. The mobile and low-cost technology includes modified methods of frequency-resonance processing and decoding of satellite images and photo images, vertical electric-resonance sounding (scanning) of a cross-section, as well as a method of integrated assessment of the prospects of oil and gas potential of large prospecting blocks and license areas. Separate methods of this direct-prospecting technology are based on the principles of the “substance” paradigm of geophysical research, the essence of which is to search for a specific substance – oil, gas, gas condensate, gold, zinc, etc.

Findings. Within the Gosses Bluff structure, a channel (volcano) was discovered with a root at a depth of 470 km filled with sedimentary siliceous rocks. In the areas of the ring structures Ilkurlka (Begemoth) and Yarrabubba the volcanoes were revealed with roots at a depth of 996 km, filled with granite rocks. Within the Wolfe Creek Crater, a channel (volcano) with a root at a depth of 470 km filled with igneous ultramafic rocks was established. Within the Ilkurlka structure, the intervals of gold mineralization were recorded practically from the surface up to 2000 m. At a large gold deposit Boddington (Australia), responses from gold were recorded up to 2600 m, and at the largest Muruntau (Uzbekistan) up to 2000 m. In the contours of the Yarrabubba crater, responses at frequencies of gold are not fixed. A volcano with a root of 723 km filled with limestones was found in a site of a productive exploratory well Bratwurst-1 in the Browse basin (Western Australia), and a channel with a root of 470 km filled with ultramafic igneous rocks was discovered on the area of the project well on the Tawhaki structure in the territorial waters of New Zealand. In the three lakes in Australia, the root of the basalt channel is located at a depth of 470 km. In New Zealand, within the areas where the cleanest lake and active volcano on White Island are located, the roots of channels filled with limestone are determined at a depth of 216 km (layer of the plastic state of the substance).

The practical significance and conclusions. The results of experimental research studies of a reconnaissance character allow us to conclude that mobile direct prospecting technology of satellite images and photo images frequency-resonance processing can be used to study the deep structure and determine (establish) the genesis of ring structures, study volcanoes of various types, as well as search for combustible and ore useful minerals in various regions of the globe.
