Nowdays geo-ekolological environmental monitoring is one of the urgent tasks. Сities and metropolitan areas are centers of concentration of population, industry, transport, communication, science, culture, etc. The sharp increase of production volumes, the development of transtort infrastructure and the energy sector, against the backdrop of increasing urbanization, have a negative impact on the environment. As a result, there is a significant increase in the level of anthropogenic transformations of the natural environment within the territories of cities and the progression of a number of geological problems, an increase in the number of diseases for laryngitis, pharyngitis, conjunctivitis, eczema, pneumonia, myocardial infarction, lung cancer, bronchial asthma, etc. Urbanization increases the risk of various natural disasters and is today one of the pressing economic, scientific, technical and social problems that directly or indirectly concerns everyone. Exacerbation of geo-ecological problems determines the relevance of research which aimed at assessing the current state of
environment, the solution of problems of qualitative improvement of environmental and resource restoration functions of natural territorial complexes, wich are undergoing significant technogenic load today. The creation and functioning of an effective geo-ecological monitoring system is required to ensure the safety of the life of residents of large cities.
