As a result of complex laboratory studies of core material it became possible to investigate petrophysical characteristics of rocks in the Pre-Neogene basement, their lithological-facial and structural-textural features and to establish the main geological factors determining their capacity-filtration properties. Methods of mathematical statistics were used to analyse petrophysical parameters of rock samples from the Mesozoic and Paleozoic deposits. The greatest range of the change in the porosity factor is characteristic of sandstones and aleurolites of the Cretaceous (0,1–28,8 %) and the Upper Jurassic (0,4–24,6 %), and the least one is characteristic of terrigenous rocks of the Paleozoic that underwent the greatest influence of katagenic processes. The intergranular porosity of carbonate rocks becomes changed within the limits of 0,1–17,3 %. A regular decrease in porosity and permeability of terrigenous rocks with depth is typical. For carbonate rocks the change in capacity-filtration parameters with depth is less noticeable.
