  • Purpose

    The main objective of the Journal is to implement the policy objectives, the main directions of which are:
    ‒  to create an easy access to  publications, which are well adapted to the current needs in the field of natural sciences, broadening scientific and research expertise;
    ‒  to promote national and international experience in the development and application of active Geoinformatics − integrating scientific discipline of Earth sciences and solving problems in subsoil and natural resources exploitation.

    Tasks

     scientific and research: to enable Ukrainian and foreign scientists (researchers, theoreticians, practitioners, professionals) to share their theories, views and findings of the research of natural geosystems using an integrated approach  − computer simulation, databases, knowledge bases, involving mathematical methods, remote sensing of the Earth, GIS technologies, Internet technologies, etc.);
     education: to support higher education through free submission of research papers by graduate students;
     information: to reach out for different categories of users who are interested in the functionality of the scientific direction “geoinformatikaˮ for theoretical and applied purposes in geoscience.

    Uniqueness

    Journal “Geoіnformatikaˮ is Ukraine’s first scientific interdisciplinary academic periodical which, on the basis of modern information, brings together the subject areas of Earth Sciences into one basic specialization, providing their close interrelation with other sciences.

  • The Journal`s publication policy is conducted based on the following main principles:
      to adhere strictly to ethical standards that should guide those involved in the publication of research results (Code of Ethics of scientific publications);
    to provide fair reviewing of manuscripts of the articles in order to prevent any actual or   potential conflicts of interest between the reviewers and authors (reviewing procedure);
      to regulate of copyright relations with the publisher, and to define copyright and related rights   by entering into an agreement with all the authors;
      to strongly condemn cases of plagiarism in articles as copyright infringement and breach of scientific ethics, and to take all possible measures to prevent it;
     to adhere to the quality standards of articles and their presentation adopted in the scientific community, which provide relevance and scientific novelty, reliability, validity, and innovation of publications, as well as their high quality design;
     to support the site log on a modern publishing platform in accordance with the information strategy which is based on a clear division of methods and timing of presenting current and archived information;
     to ensure strict timing in issuing the Journal`s publications.

  • Editorial rules and technical specifications are conditioned by the criteria for inclusion of the Journal in “The list of Ukraine`s leading scholarly specialized publicationsˮ and the international analytical database, taking into account the following:
     conditions of compiling the list of scientific specialized editions of Ukraine and adherence of relevant manuscripts to the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;
     NAS of Ukraine’s regulations on periodical publications;
     scientific directions of the Journal (thematic directions) that are envisaged in the Certificate of state registration;
     national and international regulations for improving the availability of Ukrainian information product to the world community;
     rules for authors and technical specifications stipulated specified in the publication.

     

     

  • The strategic policy priorities of the Journal are aimed at increasing its availability in the global information space and securing its recognition as an intellectual resource of Ukrainian science with the status of an international competitive scientometric publication.

    For its further development, the Journal undertakes:
     to continue systematic work on integrating the Journal into the international system of scientific electronic communications;
     to include (indexation) of the Journal in the most complete and reputable international electronic library catalogs, scientometric databases and search electronic systems citation (bibliographic databases), such as Scopus, Web of Science and others;
     to implement the system of assigning every scientific publication its digital object identifier (The Digital Object Identifier − DOI) − the unique link which provides a direct link to the publication;
    to create an electronic version of the Journal;
    to be flexible in reviewing relations, approaches, principles and methods of scientific publications in accordance with the international standards generally accepted in the international scientific community;
    to improve the standards of submitting material for publication; to ensure correct representation of reference lists in Latin, and proper use of English terminology in the author’s resume;
    to ensure  increasing the general rating and citation index of the Journal, dynamics in publication activity, expanding the geography of the authors,  editors and  reviewers.
